Accessibility statement

1. Introduction
Landhaus Averbeck GmbH & Co. KG is committed to making its website and mobile applications accessible in accordance with the statutory requirements. The basis for this is the German Accessibility Improvement Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz, BFSG), in particular Section 3 BFSG, as well as the Accessibility Ordinance (Barrierefreiheitsverordnung, BFV). The accessibility requirements also follow from Section 14 BFSG in conjunction with Section 3 (1) BFSG and the BFV. These provisions transpose Directive (EU) 2019/882 on the accessibility requirements for products and services into national law.

The specific technical measures are based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 with conformance levels A and AA.

This accessibility statement applies to the website www.landhausaverbeck.de.

2. Status of accessibility
This website is partially accessible, as not all requirements are fully met.

3. Non-accessible content
a) Technical barriers

  • iFrames without titles: Embedded content such as maps or external videos does not have meaningful titles for screen readers.
  • Third-party iFrames: This content comes from external sources and does not always meet accessibility standards – adapting it is beyond our control.
  • Incomplete HTML structure: For example, <h1> headings are not used consistently or form fields are not correctly linked to <label> elements.

b) Content barriers

  • Insufficient preparation of video and audio content: Subtitles, complete transcripts or audio descriptions are often missing, which considerably restricts accessible use.
  • Non-accessible PDF and Office documents: These documents often lack a semantic structure, contain non-accessible tables or have insufficient alternative texts.
  • Mixed languages without markup: Some English terms or sections are not correctly marked up linguistically in the code.

c) Colour and design issues

  • Limited scalability when enlarging text:
    When text is greatly enlarged without changing the window size, overlaps or incomplete display may occur. Navigation areas and interactive elements such as forms are particularly affected. We plan to remedy these limitations. As part of future layout optimisations, the display at high zoom levels will be revised to ensure unrestricted use.

d) Disproportionate burden

In accordance with Article 5 of Directive (EU) 2016/2102, an exemption may be claimed for certain content on the grounds of a disproportionate burden.
Despite extensive efforts, we are currently unable to provide the following content in a fully accessible form:

  • older PDF documents and Office files

Many of the PDF and Word documents published before 30 May 2025 do not meet the accessibility requirements. They often lack a clear structure or meaningful alternative texts for images, or they contain complex tables whose accessible preparation would require considerable staff and technical effort.
We strive to make new documents accessible as a matter of principle. If you need a specific document in an accessible version, please contact us – we will provide it wherever possible.

Older videos without subtitles or audio description:
Videos published before 30 May 2025 may not contain subtitles, audio descriptions or accessible controls.
New videos are published with subtitles and additional accessible features wherever possible.

4. Further information on the accessibility of the service
General description of the service
Landhaus Averbeck offers all-inclusive family holidays in the Lüneburg Heath. Guests enjoy family-friendly accommodation, childcare, leisure activities and high-quality catering in a relaxed, rural atmosphere.
Descriptions and explanations of how the service is provided:
Bookings are made online with a deposit. On arrival, guests check in to one of the family-friendly apartments. Children are looked after professionally while parents can relax. All meals and drinks are included. Leisure facilities such as horse riding, the swimming pool and the play barn are available all day. Check-out on the day of departure is by 10 a.m.
